Here at Mercedes Baseball, we believe firmly in the old African proverb “It takes a village to raise a child.” Mercedes Baseball Academy focuses on Teaching, Serving, and Mentoring our athletes, but also worry about their future and success.
Our principal goal as a program is to bear impact on the lives of every child we work with in the areas of sports, academics, social emotional, and wellness. As a program, we do not just see the potential of our kids because of their talents on the field but the man and woman they are to become. We believe that every child that comes to us has a purpose.
All participants in any Academy activities including lessons, camps, clinics, programs, and teams must have a parent or legal guardian agree to the policies and procedures and terms and conditions of Mercedes Baseball Academy, including the liability waiver. Mercedes Baseball Academy reserves the right to dismiss your child if his/her actions or behavior interferes with the safety and/or employment of planned activities. Your registration for any Mercedes Baseball Academy activity includes your full acceptance of these terms and conditions.

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and federal and state health agencies recommend social distancing and have prohibited the congregation of groups of people. The Acton Recreation Department with guidance from the state and Acton Board of Health has created new protocols and put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, Acton
Recreation cannot guarantee that you or your child(ren) will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, attending any program may increase your child(ren)s risk of contracting COVID-19.
You acknowledge that the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending Mercedes Baseball Academy, and such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK: I have read and understood the above warning concerning COVID-19. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at Mercedes Baseball Academy program may result from the actions, omission, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, City of Lawrence employees, volunteers, and program participants and their families. I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risk and accept sole responsibility for any injury to my child(ren) or myself including, but no limited to, personal injury, disability, and death, illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expenses, of any kind, that I or my child(ren) may experience or incur in connection with my child(ren)’s attendance at Mercedes Baseball Academy.
WAIVER OF LAWSUIT/LIABILITY: On my behalf, and on behalf of my child(ren), I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless Mercedes Baseball Academy and its owner’s, directors, managers, agents, or other representatives, City of Lawrence, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, cost, or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of City f Lawrence, its employees, and representatives, whether a COVID -19 infection occurs before, during, or after participating in Mercedes Baseball Academy program.
I HAVE CAREFULLY READ ABD FULLY UNDERSTAND ALL PROVISIONS OF THIS RELEASE, AND FREELY AND KNOWNGLY ASSUME THE RISK AND WAIVE MY RIGHT CONCERNING LIABILITY AS DESCRIBED ABOVE.
